Optimization of production

Optimization of production

The main global income generator for businesses can be considered manufacturing processes. It is in this area, this raises the greatest optimization potentials. Businesses in part, provide these rationalization measures yourself but over time reaching the threshold beyond which could cause a threat to continuity of production and supply of finished products to its customers, because lack of optimization know-how and the materials for the responsible and rational decision-making. Then the order to a market economy, rapidly growing competition and changing customer preferences to succeed, they must focus their activities in particular:

  1. Cost reduction.

  2. Increasing the flexibility of production.

  3. Improving the quality of production.

General procedure for optimization in production:

  1. Preparation of the optimization project.

  2. Analysis of the optimization project.

  3. Create a variant optimization project.

  4. Detailing of optimization variants.

  5. Implementation optimization.

  6. Check implemented optimization.

The optimization of production processes, our company focuses on:

  1. Departments.

  2. The assembly line.

  3. Staff.

  4. The technique.

Methods used in the optimization can be distinguished in the following two groups:

  1. STATIC METHODS
    1. MTM analysis
    2. FactoryFlow
    3. Lean methods
    4. EAWS

  1. DYNAMIC METHODS
    1.  PLANT SIMULATION
    2.  WITNESS

STUDY CASE:

Description of project conditions:

The company decided to optimize one of the production lines, which consists of a total of 3 units. Each block has its specific operations and overall the assembly line manned by two people. Optimization activities should be aimed at increasing production standards for finished parts and also change the leveling staff workload.

Project objective:

The rationalization measures to ensure an increase in productivity on the assembly line and staff capacity on the line.

Project benefits:

  1. Verification of production standards.

  2. Identification of potential production standards.

  3. Leveling of workload of workers on the assembly line.
